Aris Roussos

I am a visual artist working at the intersection of traditional craft and contemporary portrait photography. My two primary mediums, pointillism and photography, inform one another in a continuous dialogue about perception, detail, and the human essence.

In my pointillist works, I employ countless individual marks to construct a whole, a process that requires immense patience and speaks to the complex, composite nature of identity. This same principle guides my photographic portraits: I look for the nuanced interplay of light, expression, and presence that defines a moment, building a narrative detail by detail.

While my artistic foundation is rooted in fine art and theoretical concepts concerning the self and the image, my aim is always to create work that is both intellectually resonant and visually captivating. I believe in the power of a portrait to reveal depth, and in the power of meticulous artistry to connect with a viewer on a fundamental level. My work, whether commissioned or personal, seeks that point of connection—where technique meets humanity.
